Pelicontrol
In order to achieve accreditation status laboratories must be able to demonstrate the use of quality controls in routine testing. To simplify this Sanquin has developed two new products to check blood group typing procedures.

Whole blood control for daily internal quality control

Pelicontrol consists of 2 tubes that can be used as 2 patient samples to have both a positive as well as a negative control for the typing of blood groups (ABO/Rhesus D) and for the screening of antibodies.

One of Pelicontrol’s advantages is that it is ideal for the control of semi and fully automated blood group systems, as well as for manual methods to check the preparation of cell suspensions.

Pelicontrol is validated according to IVD standards and is CE marked. Validation is done for the manual tube method, for Diamed’s WA DIANA, for ORTHOS’s AUTOVUE and for Sanquin’s MAGISTER (Cellbind), but is also suitable for other systems after your own validation.



Tube 1: blood group A2 B Rhesus D positive with AB serum
